Salary:

$70,000 - $85,000 To lead and oversee daily accounting operations for a growing freight forwarding and logistics organization. This role will be based in Atlanta and will manage a small accounting team of 2-3 employees while supporting the financial health and operational efficiency of the company. The ideal candidate MUST have a strong accounting background within the freight forwarding or logistics industry and hands-on experience with CargoWise and/or similar transportation management systems. This position requires a proactive leader who can manage accounting processes, mentor staff, and collaborate across departments in a fast-paced environment. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary ranging from $70,000 - $85,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications Opportunity for hybrid work flexibility after onboarding and training Collaborative and professional work environment Paid time off and company-recognized holidays Health, dental, and vision insurance options (if applicable) 401(k) retirement plan with company participation (if applicable) Key Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting Supervise and support a team of 2-3 accounting staff members Manage month-end and year-end close processes Review reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements for accuracy Monitor cash flow, collections, and vendor payments Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls Partner with operations and executive leadership to support financial planning and business objectives Analyze financial data and provide reporting insights to management Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation Maintain and optimize accounting procedures and workflows within CargoWise and related systems Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies Qualifications Prior freight forwarding or logistics industry experience required Experience with CargoWise strongly preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 5+ years of accounting experience with leadership or supervisory responsibilities Strong understanding of AR/AP, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
