Posting Details Position Information Working Title Director, University Accounting and Treasury Services Department Comptroller's Office Compensation Title Position Number 30000183 Position Status Regular Work Schedule Monday through Friday 8:15 am - 4:30 pm Hours per Week 37.5 Months per Year 12 Purpose of Position Reporting to Associate Vice President, Financial Services, the Director of University Accounting and Treasury Services, is responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations. This includes managing general accounting, treasury services, capital asset management, and accounts payable. The key responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data and reporting, as well as the preparation of financial documents for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. In addition to these core duties, the role entails preparing financial documents including the annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and GASB regulations, developing financial policies and procedures, and handling special projects assigned by the Associate Vice President of Financial Services. The Director also supervises employees in the accounting department and serves as a backup for the Associate Vice President of Financial Services. Primary Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight for the University's accounting and treasury functions, including general accounting, accounts payable, capital assets, and cash management. Supervise and develop University accounting staff, including assigning work, reviewing outputs, and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of accounting records. Review and approve journal entries to ensure accuracy, appropriate documentation, and compliance with University policy and Governmental Accounting Standards Board ( GASB ) requirements. Lead the fiscal year‑end close process, including preparation of closing entries, audit schedules, and supporting documentation. Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and coordinate the preparation of materials for annual financial statement audits. Coordinate the preparation, review, and submission of external financial reports, including (but not limited to) CAFR / ACFR, FISAP, IPEDS, Council on Postsecondary Education, ABA, MIR, and other required regulatory or stakeholder reports. Review University‑related foundation financial activity and statements, as needed, for inclusion in consolidated reporting. Collaborate with campus partners to support and improve financial accounting and reporting systems, including integrations with student, human resources, and other institutional systems. Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting required. Significant progressive experience in accounting Demonstrated knowledge of governmental or fund accounting and GASB standards. Experience leading or supervising professional staff. Strong analytical, organizational, and written communication skills. Experience working with enterprise financial systems and complex financial reporting environments. CPA licensure and demonstrated experience in higher education or governmental accounting preferred.
