This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your extensive accounting expertise, financial analysis skills, and regulatory knowledge in a fast-paced environment. As an integral part of our organization, you will oversee comprehensive accounting functions, ensure compliance with industry standards, and contribute to strategic financial planning. Your expertise in diverse areas such as estate planning, SOX compliance, financial sales, LIHTC, and corporate accounting will drive our financial integrity and growth. Duties Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements. Manage general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and month-end closing processes. Conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision-making, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Oversee tax accounting activities, including preparation of tax returns and compliance with tax laws such as securities law and estate planning regulations. Perform audits and internal controls reviews in line with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) standards to ensure operational integrity. Maintain accurate records of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and asset management using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms. Support mergers & acquisitions activities through due diligence, financial report writing, and integration processes. Assist with non-profit accounting functions if applicable; ensure regulatory reporting accuracy and timely submission. Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions involving securities law or private equity investments. Contribute to financial report interpretation for senior management and stakeholders to facilitate strategic planning. Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required; additional credentials in estate planning or securities law are a plus. Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a strong background in financial concepts such as GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits. Demonstrated expertise in tax experience, auditing procedures, SOX compliance, and regulatory reporting. Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar tools; strong analytical skills for account reconciliation and financial analysis. Knowledge of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Wills & trusts law, Mergers & acquisitions processes, and private equity investments preferred. Excellent understanding of financial statement preparation and interpretation along with budgeting skills. Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation accurately. Effective communication skills for financial report writing and analysis; ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
