Full Job Description Finance & Accounting Director Location:
Brooklyn Center, MN About the Opportunity We are partnering with a growing, privately held manufacturing company to identify a Finance & Accounting Director to lead the accounting and finance function for its U.S. operations. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity with a company that is investing in growth, operational improvement, and long-term expansion initiatives. The organization operates in a specialized manufacturing environment and is continuing to build momentum following a significant operational transformation over the past several years. This role offers the opportunity to serve as the top finance leader for the business unit while partnering directly with executive leadership on both strategic and operational initiatives. Position Overview This is a hands-on accounting and finance leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial operations for the U.S. business, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, cash management, and operational finance support. The role will lead a small accounting team and work closely with operations leadership to improve financial visibility, drive process improvements, and support continued business growth. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys operating both strategically and tactically within a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Lead all accounting and finance activities for the U.S. business Oversee monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting Manage cost accounting, inventory analysis, and operational finance support Partner with leadership on financial planning, KPI development, and business decision-making Drive improvements in cash management, working capital, and financial processes Support ongoing operational and systems improvements Lead and mentor a small accounting team Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams Support future growth initiatives, including expansion of international operations What We're Looking For 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience Prior experience leading accounting/finance within a manufacturing environment Strong cost accounting and operational finance background Hands-on leadership style with willingness to operate in the details Experience partnering with operational leadership teams Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution Preferred Background Manufacturing or industrial industry experience strongly preferred SAP experience is highly desirable CPA or public accounting foundation is a plus Experience within inventory-heavy environments Lean manufacturing exposure is beneficial Why This Opportunity Top finance leadership role for a growing business Direct partnership with executive leadership Opportunity to make a meaningful operational impact Broad scope across accounting, finance, and business operations Stable organization with long-term growth potential Highly visible role with strong influence across the business Compensation Base salary: $150,000 - $170,000 Bonus opportunity: 10%-15% Work Environment Onsite role based in the northwest metro area of Minneapolis. #MinnesotaJobs #FinanceJobs #AccountingJobs #ManufacturingFinance #ControllerJobs #DirectorOfFinance #CostAccounting #TwinCitiesJobs #ManufacturingCareers #LeadershipOpportunity #FinanceLeadership #SAP #AccountingAndFinance #MinneapolisJobs #
