Overview Join our dynamic finance team as an Accounting Team Lead, where you will play a pivotal role in steering our accounting operations with precision and expertise. This position will start part time at 20 hours and grow to full time with additional benefits as the firm is growing quickly. Responsibilities Lead and mentor the accounting team of 3-5 people to ensure timely and accurate completion of all accounting functions Oversee general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, and account analysis to maintain financial integrity Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of financial reports, including regulatory filings and management reports Ensure adherence to accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements Implement and monitor internal controls related to technical accounting issues, payroll processing, and financial software systems like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and others Conduct detailed financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making processes. Meet with and on board new bookkeeping clientele. Requirements Proven experience in accounting leadership roles with strong knowledge of
GAAP, IFRS, SOX
compliance, and governmental or non-profit accounting practices Extensive background in financial report writing, account reconciliation, balance sheet management, and general ledger oversight Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or similar platforms; strong technical accounting skills are essential Demonstrated ability to manage accounts payable/receivable processes and cash management activities effectively Solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles along with debits & credits management Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately Strong communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating across teams Relevant certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are preferred but not mandatory This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional eager to lead a vital function within a thriving organization.
