Compensation Package Base Salary:
$230,000
Equity:
Competitive equity package (targeting 75th percentile)

Scotts Valley, CA (5 days on-site required)

You'll build the finance function from the ground up while preparing for mass production scaling next year.

- from startup controller to late-stage/public company finance leader 🔥 What You'll Do ERP & Systems Leadership Lead selection and implementation of new ERP system (replacing QuickBooks)
Partner with business applications engineer as project manager defining requirements
Build scalable systems for R D through mass production phases Manufacturing Finance Excellence Build inventory and cost accounting processes for hardware manufacturing
Determine product COGS ahead of first prototype sales next year
Establish month-end close processes, journal entries, and reconciliations Compliance & Audit Readiness Prepare company for first financial audit and full GAAP compliance
Transition outsourced accounting functions in-house
Establish best-in-class accounting organization standards Team Building & Leadership Hire and manage junior accountant (already approved)
Scale accounting team as company grows toward mass production
Build foundation for late-stage private/public company finance function 🎯
Ideal Candidate Profile Must-Haves:
CPA required with 7-12 years progressive accounting experience
Hardware/manufacturing experience
- inventory and cost accounting in physical goods environment
ERP implementation experience
- ideally completed at least one full implementation
Senior doer mentality
- comfortable rolling up sleeves while building for scale
On-site commitment
- 5 days/week in Scotts Valley (SF candidates considered for 3-4 days)
Highly Preferred:
Experience at high-growth hardware companies (Tesla, Anduril, Rivian, SpaceX)
Assistant Controller background ready for next-level responsibility
Strong tenure in previous roles demonstrating commitment
High agency and adaptability to new tools/automation
