Position Summary:
Amkor is seeking a high-energy, Director, Global Accounting to join our Tempe, AZ corporate office. This position will lead the monthly global close process and will work with the worldwide factories and operations to analyze and properly account for, consolidate and report the related transactions. This role will be responsible for the integrity of our global ledger, the seamless execution of our audit, and the implementation of AI-driven automation to modernize our accounting function.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs and oversees the world-wide financial close on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis, including journal entry processing, intercompany eliminations, account analysis, consolidation and monthly reporting packages, including facilitate close collaboration with global factory representatives. Designs, monitors and implements a system of internal controls and SOX procedures. Ensures consistent global application of accounting policies, including review of contracts/agreements to ensure proper accounting and application. Facilitates SAP ERP system configuration with IT to meet required accounting standards, ensuring it's the most efficient to meet business needs. Works closely with IT to ensure the integrity of the Company's information systems. Act as the functional lead for our SAP4 Hana transformation project. Identify opportunities to leverage AI to modernize the accounting function. Partner with cross functional teams on various internal and external reporting requirements ensuring integrity and accuracy of financial information. Provides timely analysis and reporting for crisp decision making to the executive team, including ownership of the quarterly consolidated flux analysis (P&L and Balance Sheet). Responsible for recruiting, developing, evaluating and retaining a high performing accounting team. Act as lead for GL department for any ad hoc projects as business needs evolve.
Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, be a licensed CPA and have at least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years specifically in a leadership or supervisory capacity. Strong technical accounting and understanding of GAAP, particularly foreign currency translation and global consolidations. Demonstrated experience working with global public entities in a multi-entity environment. Advanced knowledge and experience with SAP and genuine interest in AI/automation tools for finance.
Project Management:
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects like global audits or system implementations. Proficiency with MS Office with advanced proficiency in Excel. Knowledge and experience with internal controls, processes and SOX. Independently driven, but with the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment. Effective interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively in a cross-divisional environment. Demonstrated ability to adapt and be flexible in order to succeed in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent leadership, problem solving, organizational and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Semiconductor and/or manufacturing experience. Inventory with cost accounting experience. Experience with ERP system transformation.
Location:
