Job Description

Vaco is partnering with a rapidly growing manufacturing organization in Tempe, AZ to identify a talented Director of Accounting for a direct-hire opportunity. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing the accounting function while helping build and scale processes, systems, and controls to support the company's continued growth. The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing accounting expertise, a hands-on leadership style, and a passion for driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all accounting operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, financial reporting, general ledger management, account reconciliations, and
U.S. GAAP
compliance.
  • Oversee manufacturing accounting activities, including cost accounting, inventory valuation, payroll accounting, sales and use tax, lease accounting (ASC 842), and internal controls.
  • Drive process improvements and scalability initiatives through ERP optimization, workflow enhancements, audit support, and strategic partnership with Finance and Operations leadership.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA highly preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong manufacturing and cost accounting experience required
  • Experience in startup, high-growth, or post-acquisition environments preferred
  • Proven ERP systems expertise required
Compensation:
  • $180,000 - $200,000 base salary
  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
