Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Associate-Accounts to join our finance team. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the organization's financial health through comprehensive accounting practices, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis. As a Senior Associate-Accounts, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audit processes, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations. Your expertise will help drive sound financial decision-making and foster operational excellence across departments. Responsibilities Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and month-end closing procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data. Prepare detailed financial statements, reports, and analyses aligned with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and review accounts payable and receivable to maintain precise financial records. Support regulatory reporting requirements, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and other governmental or industry-specific regulations such as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) filings. Perform cash flow analysis, bank reconciliations, and account analysis to monitor liquidity and financial stability. Assist with internal audits, external audits, and compliance reviews by providing necessary documentation and insights. Mentor junior team members on technical accounting concepts, software tools like PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Quicken, and Excel data analysis techniques such as VLOOKUP functions. Qualifications Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of corporate accounting practices. Demonstrated expertise in technical accounting areas including regulatory compliance accounting, financial statement preparation, and audit support. Familiarity with financial software such as PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms. Knowledge of GAAP standards along with experience in double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and account reconciliation processes. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel for data analysis and financial report interpretation. Experience working within non-profit or governmental accounting environments is a plus. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while mentoring team members. Relevant certifications or educational background in accounting or finance are preferred; familiarity with securities law or tax experience is advantageous.
