Director of Accounting

We are looking for an experienced Director of Accounting to oversee and enhance the financial operations of our organization. This is a long-term contract position based in Warwick, Rhode Island, offering an excellent opportunity to lead critical accounting functions and ensure compliance with financial standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise and a proven ability to manage financial reporting processes and staff effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end close process to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Manage and review journal entries, reconciliations, and related accounting activities.
• Lead the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with applicable standards.
• Supervise and support staff involved in accounts receivable, billing, and other financial functions.
• Conduct detailed financial audits and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyze data and generate comprehensive financial reports.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy.
• Provide strategic input on accounting practices and policies to enhance organizational efficiency.
