  • Full-time Job Overview The Director of Accounting is responsible for providing accurate, timely, and relevant financial information and strategic guidance to support sound business decision-making.
This role oversees financial operations across four operating companies and three holding companies, supporting a workforce of approximately 60-100 employees and contractors across four states.
Objectives:
To ensure financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial leadership that supports the continued growth and operational success of the organization
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of financial statements and reports Develop and maintain internal controls to prevent or detect inaccuracies in accounting records Establish and enforce policies and procedures for financial data collection, reporting, and asset protection Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes Maintain fixed asset schedules and tracking Cash Flow & Disbursements Manage cash flow, vendor payments, and investment activities Provide final approval of all disbursements Oversee corporate purchase card programs Payroll & Benefits Administration Oversee payroll processing, tax filings, and issuance of W-2s and 1099s Manage employee benefit plans, including serving as 401(k) trustee Compliance & Regulatory Oversight Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and business regulations Facilitate audits and inspections Oversee federal and state fuel & excise (F&E) and income tax filings Manage sales and lodging tax filings Coordinate corporate entity formations, annual reports, and licensing requirements Operational Oversight Review and approve monthly owner statements and distributions Manage corporate insurance programs Oversee vehicle titles and tag registrations Maintain document and record storage systems Human Resources & Team Leadership Provide oversight of HR administration Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff Technology & Systems Management Serve as IT coordinator for GBY Act as system administrator for Counterpoint, Sage, and Odoo applications Oversee and coordinate external IT support teams
Qualifications:
Proven experience in financial leadership, preferably in multi-entity environments Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance Experience managing payroll, benefits, and tax filings Demonstrated leadership and team development skills Proficiency with financial and ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Odoo, Counterpoint) Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills On site role Relaxed informal organization Reports to
