We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations and ensure the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of our accounting processes. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a broad spectrum of accounting functions, including financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and internal controls. Your expertise will drive sound financial management and support strategic decision-making across the organization. Duties Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory standards. Oversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and journal entries to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections. Conduct balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliations, and cash flow analysis to maintain financial integrity. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and assist with internal controls testing. Supervise regulatory reporting obligations related to governmental accounting, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and other non-profit accounting standards. Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering continuous improvement in technical accounting skills such as GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial report writing. Support tax compliance efforts by providing necessary documentation and insights for tax filings. Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support organizational growth initiatives. Maintain expertise in securities law, estate law (wills, trusts & estate law), and other relevant legal frameworks impacting financial operations. Utilize accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline processes and improve reporting efficiency. Experience Proven experience in public accounting or corporate finance roles with a strong foundation in financial accounting principles. Demonstrated expertise in SOX compliance, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices. bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation. Hands-on experience with financial software like Sage or Xero is highly preferred. Strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, balance sheet management, cash flow analysis, and financial statement interpretation. Experience mentoring or supervising accounting teams with a focus on professional development in areas like auditing, regulatory reporting, and general ledger reconciliation. Familiarity with tax regulations related to LIHTC programs or other government-funded initiatives is advantageous. Excellent analytical skills combined with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly through reports and presentations.
