Job Summary The Director of Accounting - Financial Services and Accounting Projects is a senior finance leadership role responsible for oversight of Financial Services functions, including Payroll, Accounts Payable, Remittance, and Benefits Accounting, while leading enterprise and accounting transformation initiatives. This role ensures compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC, SOX, and regulatory requirements and serves as a strategic partner across Finance, HR, IT, Supply Chain, Tax, Treasury, and Operations.

Essential Functions
  • Lead payroll, accounts payable, remittance, and related accounting activities.
  • Ensure strong internal controls over payroll, cash disbursements, employee benefits, and vendor payments.
  • Coordinate external audit and regulatory requests.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and service delivery excellence.
  • Ensure timely filings, reporting, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Lead accounting technology initiatives and ERP optimization efforts, including
SAP S/4HANA
implementations.
  • Support divestitures, acquisitions, and transition service agreements.
  • Champion automation, workflow, redesign, and data governance initiatives.
  • Leverage analytics and reporting tools to improve decision-making and efficiency.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting managers and professionals.
  • Build succession plans and strengthen organizational capability.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Education Description Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Active CPA required. Experience
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
  • 5+ years leading teams in large corporate or regulated environments.
  • Experience with
SOX, SEC
reporting, ERP systems, and accounting transformations.
  • Utility, energy, infrastructure, or regulated industry experience.
  • Big Four public accounting background.
  • Experience supporting organizations exceeding $1B in annual revenue.
  • ERP implementation leadership experience.
  • M&A, integration, and divestiture experience.
