Accounting & Administration Director AG Staffing Laredo, TX Job Details Full-time $70,000 - $80,000 a year 15 hours ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Qualifications Financial close processing Writing skills Corporate tax return preparation English Bachelor's degree Overseeing payroll Closing the books Full Job Description Accounting & Administration DirectorReports To CEO / Vice President Direct Reports Accounting Assistant (if applicable) Administrative personnel related to billing and accounts payable/receivable Primary Responsibilities Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Oversee the accounting records of revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities. Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable. Supervise bank reconciliations and cash flow management. Administer budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor construction costs by project, job site, and cost center. Prepare project profitability reports. Coordinate monthly accounting close processes. Assist with the preparation of federal and state tax filings in coordination with external advisors. Oversee compliance with payroll-related obligations. Maintain internal controls and proper financial documentation. Participate in internal and external audits. Monitor contracts, change orders, and retainage. Assist in preparing reports for banks, insurance companies, and bonding companies. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional-level English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) - 90%. Experience 5+ years of experience in financial accounting. Internal and external audit experience (preferred). Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction, engineering, or general contracting companies (preferred). Experience with project accounting and cost accounting. Experience with U.S. payroll and tax compliance. Experience with monthly closings and financial statement preparation. Technical Knowledge
U.S. GAAP
accounting principles. Construction project costing and job costing. Revenue recognition for construction contracts. Budgeting and financial analysis. ERP systems or accounting software such as: QuickBooks Enterprise Procore Competencies Financial analysis. Planning and organizational skills. Ethics and integrity. Effective communication. Ability to work under pressure. Problem-solving skills. Results-oriented mindset. For a construction company with approximately 50 employees: USD $70,000 - $80,000 annually: Senior Financial Accountant. $41K base salary Health insurance included Car allowance (or vehicle allowance) A professional with strong experience in financial accounting and construction cost control, capable of producing reliable financial information, managing cash flow, and supporting the profitability of multiple simultaneous projects while ensuring compliance with Texas and U.S. regulations.
