Job Description:
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Responsible for providing support, oversight, technical guidance, and team leadership to assist the Corporate Accounting department and all properties managed by the company. Provides support of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, monthly profit and loss and cash flow forecasts and maintenance of all books and records. Accountable for the operational effectiveness of the accounting, financial reporting and related systems, and internal controls functions, producing positive customer experiences and delivering financial results. Position requires frequent travel within the US and the Caribbean. Position reports to Vice President of Finance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provide oversight and support to management with respect to accounting policies, annual budget and technical accounting interpretations. Interpreting financial data and recommending appropriate courses of action and exercising an analytical approach to problems. Assist with analysis of purchasing assets, leases, and other property operating investments. Assist with all property level budgeting and forecasting. Provide support to review and prepare bank and balance sheet reconciliations. Assist with property management acquisitions/dispositions and analysis of new opportunities, including the creation of pro formas. Provide Task Force support on an as needed basis. Fill in as acting Director of Finance on a temporary basis when and where needed. Perform data analysis, data roll-up summaries, and provide executive summaries and commentary on financial data as required. Assist and coordinate with IT to install, upgrade or troubleshoot any systems utilized by the properties or company. Ability to assess any given situation, taking into account cost, time management, company resources and company integrity to make strong and valuable decisions. Initiative to ensure timely and efficient response to owners/managers request for assistance. Review and negotiate company contracts for approval by management. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in Accounting or concentration in Accounting from four year college or university; or five to seven (5-7) years related experience. Onsite Hotel experience required. Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word, Adobe Pro skills required. Sage Intacct, ProfitSword, ADP, Opera, SMS, Symphony, SpaSoft and Datavison experience a plus. Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP is required.
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
Must be well rounded in all facets of accounting operations. Experience in fast paced environment in which they have shown they can conduct multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Other skill sets include : knowledge of Microsoft Office; OPERA (PMS), Springer Miller (PMS), Micros, Spa Soft a plus. Able to write for various audiences, routine reports, correspondence, business letters, summaries using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style. Able to speak effectively before groups such as business partners, clients or employees. Able to apply mathematical skills to interpret financial information and to prepare reports and budgets. Read and interpret business records and statistical reports. Must be able to travel internationally and maintain valid passport. Make business decisions based on reports and facts, as well as on experience and personal insight. Sitting for extended periods of time. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard or mouse, and to handle other computer components. Occasional lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. While performing the duties this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds. The employee must be able to see differences in widths and length of lines such as those on graphs.
