Job Description

Job Summary Northland Management Services is a restaurant management company operating restaurants in the Quick Service industry. The Director of Accounting is responsible for the management and maintenance of Company accounting functions. Responsibilities Prepare accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformity to the standards defined within the department in prescribed intervals (monthly, quarterly, yearly, etc) Prepare initial year-end financial report and coordinate final results with public accounting firm Participate and coordinate internal/external audits schedule and requirements. Monitor and analyze monthly overhead expenditures to justify and/or correct budget variances. Verify day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, cash receipts, cash disbursements, cash reporting and planning, and accounting for all financial transactions and resolve any discrepancies. Works with senior leadership on appropriate fiscal strategies for the organization. Develops systems for the maintenance of financial records, making use of current technologies. Prepares ad-hoc reports as needed. Reports sales tax to meet all requirements. Completes reconciliations of records. Completion of timely month-end journal entries and bank reconciliations in prescribed intervals (monthly, quarterly, yearly, etc) Daily treasury management Ensure financial and accounting functions, financial controls, and records meet all federal, state, local and company regulatory requirements. Documents internal controls. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, plus five (5) or more years of accounting experience. Ability to successfully multi-task in a deadline based environment Excellent planning, organizing, and interpersonal skills Advanced level of experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, etc. Views the position as providing both internal and external customer services Strong communication skills, both oral and written Valid Driver's License and proof of auto insurance Preferred Experience Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Knowledge of and experience with: Great Plains Software, Management Reporter Supervisory Responsibility The Accountant has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but collaborates with other departments and employees, as well as external contacts Competencies Financial Management Collaboration Skills Ethical Conduct Attention to Detail Strong Organizational skills Written and verbal communication skills
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
