Pay:
$25.00/hour Casa Loma College is seeking a Student Success Advisor to serve as a key resource for students navigating the financial aspects of their education. This role combines financial aid advising with student support services to promote retention, persistence, and overall student success. Working under the guidance of the Assistant Director, the Advisor provides individualized support, ensuring students understand their financial responsibilities and are empowered to make informed decisions. In this position you will have strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, demonstrate the ability to work with diverse student populations in a supportive and empathetic manner.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Advise students on financial aid eligibility, application processes, award packages, and financial planning. Provide proactive outreach to students at risk of attrition due to financial challenges, academic concerns, or personal barriers. Assist with the verification process, packaging, and disbursement of financial aid in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations Educate students on budgeting, loan repayment, and financial literacy through one-on-one sessions and group workshops. Collaborate with academic advising, student success, and student accounts teams to provide holistic support. Monitor student progress and proactively engage students who are at risk of losing financial aid eligibility. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the student information system. Participate in staff training, compliance reviews, and professional development opportunities.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Work Experience 1+ years of experience in managing Title IV financial aid packaging and providing personalized support to students. Required Skills In-depth knowledge of federal financial aid regulations. Experience in creating and managing student financial aid packages in accordance with institutional and federal guidelines. Ability to counsel students on their financial aid options, eligibility and application processes. Experience with ED Systems including NSLDS, COD and FAFSA Partner Portal. Preferred Skills Bachelor's degree preferred; degree in Business, Education, Counseling, or related field Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping Excellent organizational and time management abilities Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners Demonstrated customer service orientation Adaptability to evolving policies and technologies Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
