Job Description:
Join Purdue University Fort Wayne:
We seek a full-time, on-site Financial Aid Counselor in the Office of Financial Aid. This position supports students and their families through the financial aid process at PFW. The salary for this position is $43,888.08 annually.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide student- focused, comprehensive advising on FAFSA applications, verification requirements, C-Flag documentation, and eligibility for Federal, State, and institutional aid. Guide students on the university's financial aid processes, including aid disbursement, refunding, bookstore credit, billing, and payment procedures. Advise on external financial resources such as private loans, and outside scholarships. Assist students with understanding withdrawal processes and policies, ensuring they are aware of the impact on their financial aid. Advise students on Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) / SAP appeals- sit on the SAP committee and process SAP appeals. Triaging student complaints and determining when to escalate issues. Manage inquiries and ensuring proper notification to relevant university departments. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in a related field. Detail oriented. Organizational skills. Excellent communication skills e.g.; in-person, phone, email, video. Ability to manage tasks efficiently in a team and independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of work experience in financial aid.
