This position may be eligible for a telework schedule once onboarding into position is complete and with supervisor approval. Primary Purpose of Position The primary purpose of the Financial Aid Specialist will be: Manage daily, weekly, and monthly reports associated with the Office of Financial Aid involving but not limited to Federal Pell Grant, Federal TEACH Grant, and Transient Study processing. Import and export federal grant files to the Department of Education daily. Serve as the point of contact for transient study program at Charlotte, which will require adjusting aid based on final outcome of courses. Serve as the point of contact for the Special Rule Pell Grant, previously known as the Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant (IASG) and the Children of Fallen Heroes (CFH) Scholarship, which will require adjusting aid based on documentation received. Serve as a backup for withdrawal processing, study abroad, and part of term. Provide financial aid counseling both on the telephone, email and in person. This will include providing information regarding financial aid policies and procedures to prospective students as well as current students, parents and other visitors.
Minimum Education/Experience Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Work Responsibilities Collaborates closely with other partner offices to ensure federal compliance for transient study students and to support accurate and timely withdrawal processing. Performs additional responsibilities and projects as assigned. Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education Previous experience Higher Education, preferably in Financial Aid working with federal or state regulations, financial, or student records. Experience with Microsoft and/or Google Suite; Intermediate skills preferred; demonstrated competency and technical proficiency. Effective and efficient critical thinking skills, demonstrated analytical problem solving. Demonstrated exceptional attention to details in high-volume environments, precision and accuracy. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
