Job Description

Job description: Mildred Elley, a private, multi campus institution of higher learning, is seeking a Financial Aid Representative for appointment at its campus located in Albany, NY. The faculty and staff of Mildred Elley have a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, focusing on academic improvements, student service improvements, and accreditation and compliance improvements.
Responsibilities:
Assist new and continuing students through the processing of their financial aid applications and/or alternative loans and payment plan applications. Meet with current students to discuss concerns with financial aid awards, credit balances, or academic probation. Process private financing [TFC applications], student tuition payments, and other external funding Collect all appropriate application materials and supporting documentation to secure awarded aid funds. Enter applications and award changes and upload scanned materials into the administrative software. Assist in preparation of grad lists and various reports with summary of actions necessary to resolve and assignment of duties to ensure project is completed. Provide Direct Loan exit counseling to graduating students. Monitor the accuracy and completeness of pending graduate student financial aid files, define and solve discrepancies. Verify student eligibility for TAP ~ ensure program fund renewals are set on a revolving calendar system. Prepare student check requests to refund credit balances on student accounts. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Associates Degree or equivalent work experience required. Bachelor's preferred. Financial Aid knowledge helpful. Must have excellent customer service skills. Must be proficient in keyboarding, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook. Must have database experience. Must have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in person and on the telephone.
Pay:
$38,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
