Financial Aid Assistant (on-site) Ohio Technical College - 3.5 Cleveland, OH Job Details $35,000 - $40,000 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Computer operation Microsoft Excel Computer literacy Student information system High school diploma or GED Productivity software Full Job Description The Financial Aid Assistant will work on campus and provide support to the Financial Aid Office by assisting students with completing FAFSA and other financial aid forms, answering incoming calls and communications, and performing various administrative tasks including working with both future and current students.
Key Job Description Components Front-Line Customer Service:
Greeting visitors, answering emails, virtual communication and handling phone inquiries with tact regarding financial aid processes, deadlines, and requirements.
Administrative Support:
Processing, scanning, and filing documents; maintaining database accuracy; and managing office correspondence.
Student Support & Advising:
Assisting students with completing the FAFSA, interpreting award letters / exit interviews, and checking application status.
Compliance & Data Management:
Reviewing financial documents for completeness, assisting with verification processes, and maintaining strict confidentiality.
Office Coordination:
Scheduling appointments, assisting in organizing financial aid workshops, and liaising with other departments. Digitize student records, prepare files, scan, and perform quality control checks as well as follow up on student monthly / quarterly payments.
Required Skills and Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent, with some college or associate degree preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) Adobe and experience with student information systems.
Soft Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills, high attention to detail, ability to handle sensitive/confidential information, and strong organizational skills.
Qualifications:
Commitment to the core value of helpfulness Strong organizational skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Computer literacy and MS Office and Adobe experience Ability to maintain confidentiality, multitask, and schedule flexibility Preferred qualifications: Clerical experience and a team player
