Job Description

To be eligible to apply for an internal posted job in other departments, employees must have performed competently for at least twelve (12) months within CSU. Exceptions to this policy are rare and are subject to approval from the Division Head and the Vice President of Human Resources. Employees who have a disciplinary action on file, or are under any form of disciplinary action, are not eligible to apply for positions in other departments for six (6) months following the action. If employees wish to apply for an internal position, they should speak with their direct supervisor. Eligible employees may only apply for those jobs for which they possess the required skills, competencies, and qualifications. The supervisor should notify the HR recruiter of the employees' interest, and the HR recruiter will review the employees' eligibility to apply for the position. The employee will be notified when he/she may apply for the position. Department Leadership reserves the right to limit or delay employees from transferring to other departments if there is a critical business need in their department.

The starting compensation for this $16.00 hourly.

Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and company compensation guidelines. Job Summary Essential Job Tasks Answers incoming calls and address all questions/concerns. Responds to rotation emails. Accurately records and posts incoming financial aid documentation to student record. Identifies missing or incomplete information and resolves through communication with the student. Processes in-school deferments and skip-tracing, as needed. Maintains Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) compliance while conducting all assigned duties. Education & Experience High school diploma or the equivalent; and one to three months related experience and/or training in Financial Aid or a related field. Equipment Used Office equipment including computers, telephones, printers, faxes, and copiers. Software use includes Anthology, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Blackboard, and internal database software. Secure and reliable internet is required for this position. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The position is hybrid, and when working remotely, the employee should have a designated workspace free from distractions and noise. When on-site, this position requires working in an office setting with the use of fluorescent lighting. Candidates should be comfortable working in an environment with fluorescent lights, which may be present throughout the workspace. The on-site work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting, primarily sedentary, with frequent sitting, occasional walking and lifting, and frequent near-vision use for reading and computer work. The noise level is generally moderate. Supervisory Responsibilities There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.
