The position's primary objectives are to enhance student understanding of available financial aid options and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. This involves educating and empowering students by providing clear, accurate information about financial aid options, application processes, and eligibility requirements, helping them make informed decisions about funding their education. Additionally, the advisor is responsible for maintaining strict adherence to federal, state, and institutional guidelines by ensuring timely submission of documents, and addressing any discrepancies or issues. This ensures that students receive the financial support they need without delays, while also maintaining compliance with all necessary regulations. The Part-time Financial Aid Counselor is responsible for: Assisting the Financial Aid Office in the coordination and processing of financial aid information for current and prospective students. Assisting the Financial Aid Office in the administering of financial aid to students via private education loans and Federal financial aid packages and the Department of VA. The assigned duties include, but are not limited to: Ability to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy, professionalism and customer service Assist in completing the daily administration of the Federal Pell Grant, Direct Loan, and private education loan programs, including review of student documentation and files, record retention and reporting requirements. Assist prospective/current students in matters concerning financial aid, including the application process, documentation requirements, eligibility requirements, loan and grant options, and loan repayment requirements. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Perform other duties as necessary. Qualifications:
Experience working in a financial aid office, customer service experience and/or sufficient experiences that would likely produce the required knowledge, skills, abilities, and qualifications required for the position. Must be current on repayment of all educational loans. Education:
