Financial Aid State Programs Specialist Salary $34,725.00 Annually Location Wharton, TX Job Type Support Staff Full Time Job Number 2604 S 023 Department Vice President of Access, Completion, and Transfer Division Financial Aid Opening Date 05/07/2026 Closing Date 5/22/2026 10:00 AM Central Description Benefits Questions General Description The position of Financial Aid State Programs Specialist is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and awarding financial aid applications following federal, state, and institutional guidelines. This position plays a key role in ensuring that state grant and aid programs are efficiently managed. Requirements This position requires an Associate's degree or 60 college credit hours or two (2) years equivalent full time office work experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, clerical, or student services setting, with experience managing electronic data. Clerical skills should include excellent accounting, bookkeeping, math, and computer skills. Must demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. Criminal background check required.
