  • Full-time Since 2015, the Academy of Beauty Professionals is a growing beauty school group in the Midwest, & is looking for a highly motivated individual responsible for supporting our school operations.
Our organization seeks an outgoing individual who is motivated and engaged in team success.
Key Job Elements/Work Environment:
Analyzes and evaluates financial viability of students and families, provides counseling regarding financial aid eligibility and the application process. Provides advice and assistance to students about loans, grants, scholarships, payment plans and the financial aid process. Guides and follows up with Admissions staff to ensure New Start students have student file checklist documents completed accurately. Follows up with students and/or Admissions staff until all necessary documents are completed. Works with various software applications related to financial aid and student attendance. Reviews financial aid applications and related documents for accuracy and provides signature for approval/disapproval of applications and documents. Monitor student satisfactory progress reports and other related reports toward financial aid compliance and procedures. Monitors and follows up with students when needed on student payment plans and calculates extra instructional charges. Audits student files for accuracy, organization and completeness. Assists in external audit preparation and is accountable for results. Evaluates, approves, package and awards financial aid to students in accordance with all laws and regulations. Performs withdrawal and Return of Title IV calculations for withdrawn students. Collections outreach for former students with balances. This includes letters, emails and phone calls. Attends annual seminars & conferences related to financial aid along with federal & state laws governing financial aid in schools. Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Knowledge:
High school diploma/GED, with related field experience to the duties & responsibilities. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field (internship or full-time) is preferred.
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal, organizational, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively over the phone/email/in-person with students & staff. Ability to analyze & solve problems, investigate information to draw conclusions. Committed to team success.
