This position focuses on monitoring logistics spend, analyzing multiple KPIs, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Under the guidance of management, the analyst will ensure financial data accuracy and help optimize logistics cost through data-driven insights.
Roles & Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare monthly and quarterly logistics expense reports, focusing on freight and warehouse costs. Assists in preparation of annual logistics budgets and periodic financial forecast Monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), identifying trends, and monitor variance that would have impact on the logistics cost. Performs variance analysis to explain differences between actual logistics spend to forecasted amount, previous year same period, etc.
Modeling & Strategy:
Maintains and updates financial models used for logistics cost forecasting and simulation
Data Management:
Extract and organize data from ERP Systems and TMS/WMS Ensure the integrity of logistics financial data for use in executive-level reporting Skills & Qualifications Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Supply Chain Management 1-2 years of experience in Accounting, Cost Accounting, or Logistics or related field Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPS, and Basic Macros are essential) Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI) is a plus Exposure to ERP systems or Logistics/TMS/WMS software Problem Solving/Analysis High attention detail Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while meeting tight reporting deadlines Ability to manage and work effectively within cross-functional groups
Summary:

A typical financial analyst is responsible for analyzing and communicating financial information for clients.
Job Responsibilities:
Assemble spreadsheets and draw charts and graphs used to illustrate technical reports. Analyze financial information to produce forecast of business, industry and economic conditions for use in making investment decisions. Interpret data affecting investment programs, such as price, yield, stability and future trends in investment risks.
Skills:
Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking. Basic ability to work independently and manage ones time. Basic ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses. Basic knowledge of economic and accounting principles, the financial markets, and reporting of financial data. Basic knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations as related to accounting. Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and any other related financial software.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial discipline required. An advanced degree in a financial discipline is preferred.
