Job Description

Description We are looking for a dedicated Financial Analyst to manage post-award clinical financial activities in the healthcare industry. This role involves overseeing financial operations, including accounts receivable, balance sheet reconciliations, invoicing, and financial reporting. As a contract position with the potential for long-term employment (the candidate must be based in California), this opportunity offers the possibility for long-term growth within an innovative and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Reconcile project cost centers on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze budgetary variances and identify trends in expenditures to support financial decision-making.
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with project objectives and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, including account balance analyses and future projections.
  • Manage grant closeouts, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines and preparing final invoices.
  • Collaborate with principal investigators, research staff, and other stakeholders to maintain financial compliance and resolve issues.
  • Provide guidance to research teams on grant management policies, including budgeting and expense reporting.
  • Review financial documents for accuracy and adherence to institutional and funding agency guidelines.
  • Track and manage contract budgets, invoices, and key financial dates to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of grant applications, including developing budgets and justifications. Requirements
  • Proven experience in financial analysis; clinical trial experience required
  • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes, balance sheet reconciliation, and invoicing.
  • Proficiency in Excel (v look ups, sum ifs, pivot tables)
  • Familiarity with managing federal, foundation, and government grants.
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical billing, accounting support and budgets
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with researchers, administrators, and funding agencies.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing financial documents and reports.
