Following established policies and procedures and under limited direction of the Assistant Vice President of Finance and Accounting, the Senior Financial Analyst provides broad-based finance assignments requiring advanced knowledge of finance theory and accounting principles. Main responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, ALM (Asset-Liability Management), liquidity, investment, branch/product profitability analysis, peer reporting, cost center budget variance reporting, and ad-hoc analysis. Provide management with information necessary for decision-making. Ensure complete, accurate, and timely completion of financial records for theCredit Union Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Support the AVP/Finance and Accounting in day-to-day cash management and liquidity analysis, planning and reporting. 2. Analyze overall investment portfolio for performance improvement and risk analysis. Proactively identify opportunities for enhancement while balancing risk/reward. Create various monthly investment reports/analyses. Perform due diligence on approved investment brokers and financial analysis on (Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco) FHLB and Corporate Credit Union (Catalyst). Ensure investment broker/brokerage files are complete and accurate. 3. Prepare data for Asset-Liability Management (ALM) quarterly reporting with a focus on accuracy, internal controls, and process improvement. Act as an initial liaison with ALM vendor for questions relating to assumptions and results. Summarize results and create ALM quarterly reports for the ALCO Committee. 4. With the AVP/Finance and Accounting's direction, leads the preparation of the Credit Union's annual budget process. Coordinate and communicate with management to provide assumptions, information, and feedback. Develop and maintain the budget consolidation model. Create appropriate management and Board of Directors review materials for the annual budget. Develop and prepare monthly cost center budget variance reporting. 5. Work closely with management to prepare and develop financial forecast and risk analyses as needed for the Leadership Team. Work closely with the AVP/Finance and Accounting to assimilate and develop economic and industry information for integration into the forecasting process. 6. Responsible for the development and maintenance of branch and product profitability for the Credit Union. 7. Perform financial modeling and/or relevant financial analysis projects that will enhance the Leadership Team's understanding of financial performance. 8. Analyze and prepare all credit union peer group related data and reporting. 9. Responsible for developing, documenting, maintaining, and improving processes and internal controls related to finance-related functions. Ensure process documentation and desktop procedures are accurate and are updated timely. 10. Serve as a back-up for theNCUA 5300
Call Report, streamline and improve the data collection and reporting process. 11. Act as a super-user for accounting and finance systems, develop reports to assist management and lead integration of systems as planned. 12. Maintain effective communication and coordination with Credit Union personnel and with management. 13. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and abilities required: 1. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, with a concentration in finance. 2. Five to seven years of finance-related experience for financial institution is preferred. 3. Advanced spreadsheet skills are required. High level of proficiency in data analysis. Strong personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint). 4. Professional written and verbal communication skills. 5. Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. 6. A high degree of organization and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines. A high level of motivation and initiative. 7. Knowledge and understanding of the mission and vision of the Credit Union. Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair systems, devices, and networks ensuring maximum uptime and security at all times. Coordinate with other departments to provide systems analysis and support as needed. Ensure that systems are in place to maintain and easily retrieve historical knowledge to technical problem resolution, including job aids for all critical IT functions and components. Supervise, coordinate, and distribute help desk requirements, requests, and report activities to management and owners. Evaluate and recommend technology solutions when appropriate. Work with the Vice President to develop and enforce technology standards using technical, administrative and physical controls. Direct and coordinate all lending activities within the Credit Union, ensuring compliance with Credit Union lending policies and applicable state and federal regulations. Plan, direct, and coordinate the development of lending policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supervise, motivate, educate, coach, mentor and evaluate the performance of the subordinate positions to include recommending salary adjustments, ensure on-going training, and counseling staff towards optimum performance. 2. Direct and monitor lending and collection operations through subordinate managers/supervisors. Establish annual goals related to lending programs. Monitor progress and ensure achievement of lending goals and objectives while also ensuring sufficient levels of loan quality are met in accordance with the Credit Union's philosophy, policies and criteria. 3. Chair Loan Committee. Arrange for loan applications to be presented to Loan Committee. Provide overview and recommendations to the committee to protect both the member and the Credit Union's loan assets while minimizing delinquency and loan losses. Inform the Loan Committee if the recommendations are considered an exception or outside of policy. Report all Loan Committee approvals and exceptions to the Board of Directors monthly. 4. Maximize portfolio growth and diversification through the establishment of effective strategic direction and business development for the Credit Union's lending products. 5. Serve on the Asset/Liability Committee and other committees as assigned. 6. Direct and oversee preparation of periodic lending reports for management. Ensure accuracy and completeness of information. Analyze loan data reports for corrective actions. 7. Respond to all audits and regulatory examinations in a timely manner. Oversee the corrective action in accordance with the agreement as needed. 8. Develop, propose, gain acceptance for, and implement lending program policy and strategy. Lead activity related to new product development as it relates to lending programs. 9. Monitor competitor rates and fees and stay up-to-date on developments and issues affecting lending products and services. 10. Oversee loan underwriting to ensure consistent application of Credit Union Policy, adequate documentation, and maintain the quality of Credit Union assets. Ensure the overall quality of the lending portfolio. 11. Contribute significantly to the formulation, development, implementation, and administration of Credit Union strategy, business goals, and objectives. 12. Develop and implement operating plans, projects, policies, and budgets for consumer and mortgage lending, ensuring risk mitigation and sound operating practices. 13. Register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) and State of California Department of Insurance. Will be required to undergo a background check. Registration with the NMLS to be maintained on an annual basis. 14. Perform other duties as assigned.Position Requirements and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field plus a minimum of five years' experience managing collections, consumer lending, and mortgage lending. 2. Thorough knowledge of banking practices, policies, procedures, operations, products, services, and regulations. 3.
