Full Job Description AGENCY:
The Coalition of Homeless Services Providers (Coalition) is a private non-profit organization formed in 1994. The agency's mission is to eliminate and prevent homelessness in Monterey and San Benito Counties by promoting interagency coordination to develop, sustain, and enhance a comprehensive system of housing and support services designed to maximize the self-sufficiency of individuals and families. The Coalition comprises thirteen voting Member Agencies (the Board of Directors) as well as ten non-voting Associate Members and seven non- voting Community Advisors. The Coalition serves as the Lead Agency for the local Continuum of Care.
SALARY/BENEFITS
Salary Commensurate with Experience per Board Approved Salary Schedule. HOURS:
Non-Exempt Status; Full-time, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; may include some nights and weekends
REPORTS TO
Executive Director
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Finance and Payroll Analyst serves as the lead internal accountant, financial contracts analyst, and completes payroll entry for the Coalition of Homeless Services Providers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Finance & Bookkeeping Process revenue billing (including maintaining CHSP cost allocation process against contracts) preparing and retaining all claim back up material, and invoices/drawdowns. Accounts Receivables/Payables. Processing Payroll with Executive Director/Deputy Director. Annual W2 preparations, review, and distribution. Entering transactions in QuickBooks and Bill.com. Month-end/year-end closing, and budgeting. Annual audit, 990, 1099's. Support with filing of accounting-related documents, including grants and contracts. Support efforts to manage external grants and contracts supporting CHSP operations. Support CHSP budgetary integrity through the development of revenue and expense projections. Liaison for banking and external auditor. Lead Monthly Finance Committee and internal finance meetings Other duties as assigned.
Fundraising / Development
Support with managing external grant and reporting deadlines and occasional grant writing (when needed); assist with processing of grant awards. Support the Deputy Director in pursuing fund development opportunities. Other duties as assigned. Operations Assist with hiring, finalize onboarding, and other HR activities (ex: employee benefits -healthcare and retirement plans). Assist in implementing changes and new systems with Insperity HR, Payroll under the direction of the Executive Director. General administrative tasks, when not handled by the Administrative Coordinator. Other Special research and/or analysis projects as needed. Other duties as assigned. Key Qualifications 3+ years' experience of relevant experience and increasing responsibilities in financial and operational execution, preferably in a nonprofit setting Relevant academic degree(s) or certifications Previous work experience in Finance Positive, can-do attitude Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product Ability to problem-solve and take ownership of assigned tasks. Discretion in maintaining confidential information. Excellent organizational and project management skills Bookkeeping experience Experience with QuickBooks preferred; experience and competency with Word and Excel necessary.
