Job Description

Blu Omega is seeking an experienced Financial Management Readiness Analyst (Audit) to support a Department of Defense (DoD) client at Peterson Space Force Base, CO. As a Financial Management Readiness Analyst (Audit), you will play a vital role in strengthening fiscal accountability and ensuring compliance across critical financial processes. This onsite position at Patrick Space Force Base offers a unique opportunity to work directly with military stakeholders, contributing to federal financial improvements, executing internal controls testing, and preparing the organization for external audits. Your expertise will help enhance the transparency, accuracy, and integrity of Department of Defense financial operations. Location Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado- 60% Onsite Clearance Needed Active DoD Secret Clearance is required
Responsibilities:
Conduct sampling and internal testing across key financial assessable units such as Fund Receipt and Disbursement, Civilian Pay, Travel Pay, Vendor Pay, Reimbursable Budget Authority, and Contract Pay. Trace and validate financial transactions from initiation to completion ("cradle to grave"), ensuring all supporting documentation aligns with internal control standards. Develop and document Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) to address identified deficiencies or control gaps. Support external financial statement audits by coordinating sample requests, collecting Key Supporting Documents (KSDs), and ensuring timely responses. Lead or assist in process walkthroughs to map financial flows, identify control points, and improve audit response readiness. Collaborate with Comptroller, Budget, and Financial Management offices to resolve audit findings and promote sustainable financial governance. Maintain effective communication with HQ, Space Launch Delta 45, and other DoD entities to clarify audit requests and ensure coordination. Keep current on DoD accounting systems, policies, and internal controls, including OMB Circular A-123 and DoD Financial Management Regulations.
Qualifications:
Active DoD Secret Clearance (mandatory) Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred) 5+ years of relevant experience in federal financial management, accounting, or audit readiness Hands-on experience with DoD financial systems such as DEAMS, DFAS, CRIS, DAI, FFMS, or similar Strong knowledge of
OMB A-123
testing, internal controls evaluation, and CAP development Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment with limited oversight Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort working with senior military and civilian stakeholders Prior experience in supporting FIAR initiatives, audit readiness, or audit sustainment within DoD or federal agencies Nice to
Have:
Former Financial Management, Comptroller, or Budget Analyst Experience supporting FIAR engagements with firms like EY, Deloitte, or other consulting organizations Knowledge of the PPBE lifecycle and related reporting requirements Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM), risk management, and internal control frameworks
Salary Range:
$135K-$155K Our final salary offer will be based on several factors, including depth of technical skills, work experience, education, certifications, and clearance
