Job Description

Job Overview The Asset Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight for the organization's affordable housing portfolio, ensuring the long-term financial viability, regulatory compliance, operational effectiveness, and physical sustainability of assigned properties. This position is responsible for overseeing six (6) of the organization's seven (7) affordable housing communities and supervising key property management and compliance staff. The Asset Manager serves as the bridge between organizational leadership, property operations, compliance activities, financial management, and capital planning efforts. The position works to maximize property performance, maintain compliance with HUD, LIHTC, HOME, and other affordable housing program requirements, and preserve the organization's real estate assets in support of its mission. This role requires strong leadership, financial acumen, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while fostering accountability, collaboration, and exceptional service to residents and stakeholders. The Asset Manager plays a critical role in protecting organizational assets, mitigating risk, supporting strategic growth, and ensuring the delivery of safe, quality, and affordable housing. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Finance, Public Administration, Property Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in affordable housing asset management, property management, real estate operations, or a related field. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience. Working knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, HOME, Fair Housing, and affordable housing compliance requirements. Experience managing property operations, budgets, financial reporting, and portfolio performance. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret financial statements, operating reports, and compliance regulations. Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship management skills. Proficiency with property management software, including Yardi, and Microsoft Office Suite. Professional certifications such as CHAM, CAMP, HCCP, COS, CPM, HMS, or similar affordable housing credentials are preferred. Ability to obtain an affordable housing asset management certification within twelve (12) months of hire if not already certified. Valid driver's license and ability to travel between properties as needed. Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
