Description:
Position Overview LiveTrends Design Group is seeking a strategic and analytically driven Senior Financial Analyst to support growth and profitability in a dynamic B2B wholesale environment. This role will lead ROI-driven decision-making across inventory investments, product lines, and customer channels, while playing a key role in evaluating and executing M&A opportunities to expand market share and capabilities.
Key Responsibilities ROI & Profitability Analysis:
Lead ROI analysis across product categories ( live goods, décor, art pieces ), customer segments, and distribution channels Evaluate profitability of inventory investments, including seasonal plant cycles and trend-driven art products Develop financial models for pricing strategy, vendor negotiations, and promotional campaigns Analyze gross margin drivers ( shrink, spoilage, freight, handling costs ) and recommend improvements Track and report post-investment performance vs. forecast Mergers & Acquisitions ( M&A ): Support acquisition strategy targeting growers, suppliers, distributors, and complementary product lines Build valuation models ( DCF, comparable transactions, accretion/dilution ) for potential deals Participate in due diligence, including analysis of inventory quality, supply chain risks, and customer concentration Identify and quantify synergies ( procurement savings, logistics efficiencies, cross-selling opportunities ) Assist in integration planning
Inventory & Working Capital Optimization:
Analyze demand forecasting accuracy and working capital efficiency Partner with operations and supply chain teams to optimize inventory turns and reduce waste
Strategic Planning & Growth Initiatives:
Collaborate with leadership on expansion strategies Evaluate capital investments such as greenhouse capacity, warehousing, and distribution infrastructure
Reporting & Insights:
Build dashboards and KPIs tracking ROI, inventory performance, and deal outcomes Deliver clear, actionable insights to senior leadership Prepare materials for executive and board-level decision-making
Requirements:
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field ( MBA or CFA preferred ) 5-8 + years of experience in corporate finance, FP&A, investment banking, or private equity Strong experience in ROI modeling and M&A transactions Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with BI tools preferred Experience in wholesale, distribution, retail, agriculture, or consumer goods is highly desirable Key Competencies Strong understanding of inventory-driven business models and margin dynamics Ability to analyze both financial and operational data Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability Excellent communication skills High attention to detail Success Metrics Improved ROI on inventory and capital investments Reduction in shrink/spoilage and improved gross margins Successful execution of accretive M&A deals Enhanced working capital efficiency Quality of financial insights influencing decisions
