Full Job Description Overview:
MasTec is a leading North American infrastructure engineering and construction company focused primarily on engineering, building, installation, maintenance and upgrade of communications, energy and utility and other infrastructure, such as: wireless, wireline/fiber; power delivery infrastructure, including transmission, distribution, grid hardening and modernization, environmental planning and compliance; power generation infrastructure, primarily from clean energy and renewable sources; pipeline infrastructure, including for natural gas, water and carbon capture sequestration pipelines and pipeline integrity services; heavy civil and industrial infrastructure, including roads, bridges and rail; and environmental remediation services. The Financial Reporting Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the external and internal financial reporting processes. Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting, this position is primarily responsible for the collection, validation, and processing of financial information from various subsidiaries and departments, with a focus on maintaining high-quality data inputs, performing detailed reconciliations and tie-outs, and ensuring consistency across financial reports and supporting schedules. The role also involves leveraging technology, automation, and standardized processes to improve financial reporting workflows. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, skilled in working with large data sets, and proficient in leveraging automation and emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, to improve data quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Collect, consolidate, and validate key financial data to prepare summarized reporting for executive leadership and other stakeholders on a monthly basis Perform tie-outs between internal reports, supporting schedules, and externally reported information Investigate and resolve data discrepancies by partnering with data owners and cross-functional teams (i.e. Accounting, Tax, Treasury, FP&A) Support external reporting processes (e.g., Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K) primarily through data validation, tie-outs, and preparation of supporting documentation Serve as a resource for ad hoc initiatives and special projects assigned by management Evaluate and enhance financial reporting processes by identifying opportunities to automate workflows, improve data quality, and reduce manual effort Support the preparation of annual industry and other reporting surveys Support the integrity and ongoing maintenance of financial data within reporting systems (e.g., Hyperion, Oracle, Workiva), ensuring alignment between source data and reporting outputs
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting 2+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis, or data-focused roles (public company experience preferred, but not required) Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Experience adopting automation and AI-driven tools is preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced proficiency in Excel MasTec, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
