Department Overview:
Financial Control team sits within the Finance department in the Americas.
Role Description:
Nomura's Finance Control team, in the Americas, is looking for an Analyst to join the team. The candidate will focus on the monthly close process, quarterly reporting, and annual financial statements for the investment management business. We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual with an understanding of US GAAP reporting and a desire to work in a high volume and results oriented environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Support external audits Assist with preparing annual financial statements Analyze variances and identifying discrepancies Investigate and resolving accounting issues independently Assist with ad hoc analysis and projects Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Knowledge Required 1-3 years of experience in an Accounting or Finance role, preferably in financial services or a related industry Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from accredited college/university Strong technical accounting skills Public accounting experience is a plus Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines Excellent analytics, critical thinking and problem-solving skills Advanced in MS Office particularly in Excel Applicants for this position in the Finance Division of NHA must be currently authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
