Job Description The Senior Financial Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions of a manufacturing organization. This position partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Plant Leadership, and Finance teams to provide actionable insights that drive profitability, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate possesses strong FP&A, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and manufacturing finance experience. Key Responsibilities Financial Planning & Analysis Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting cycles for manufacturing operations. Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and business initiatives. Analyze monthly financial results, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. Prepare variance analyses comparing actual results to budget, forecast, and prior-year performance. Support long-range financial planning and capital investment analysis. Manufacturing Finance Partner with plant leadership to analyze manufacturing costs, labor efficiency, material usage, and overhead spending. Monitor and report key manufacturing KPIs, including: Labor productivity Scrap and waste Inventory turns OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) Capacity utilization Cost per unit Evaluate product profitability and support pricing decisions. Assist with standard cost development and annual cost roll processes. Analyze manufacturing variances, including labor, material, purchase price, and overhead variances. Reporting & Analysis Prepare monthly management reports and executive-level financial presentations. Develop dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility into operational performance. Conduct ad hoc analyses to support business decisions and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide recommendations to improve profitability, reduce costs, and optimize resource allocation. Inventory & Working Capital Management Support inventory valuation and reconciliation processes. Analyze inventory trends, excess and obsolete inventory, and working capital performance. Collaborate with supply chain teams to improve inventory management and forecasting accuracy. Business Partnership Serve as a trusted financial advisor to plant management and operational leaders. Support capital expenditure requests through financial modeling and ROI analysis. Participate in cross-functional projects involving operations, procurement, engineering, and supply chain teams. Identify opportunities for process improvements and financial controls enhancements. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field required. MBA, CPA, CMA, or other professional certification preferred. Experience 5+ years of financial analysis, FP&A, cost accounting, or manufacturing finance experience. Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, automotive, consumer products, food manufacturing, or similar environments. Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, standard costing, and inventory accounting.
