Job Description
The financial analyst provides support to the accounting and finance area. Conducts research and support for renewable projects or other projects as needed. Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, economics or finance or equivalent work experience. (Typically, six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.) Two years of related experience. Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills necessary to interpret economic, financial and accounting information as well as other statistical data, information or events in order to perform analysis, draw proper conclusions and make recommendations for action. Knowledge of information technology terms, equipment, systems, functions and major vendors. Strong research and analytical skills and strong attention to detail. Strong software skills in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with other software applications including PowerPoint, e-mail, Oracle Financials. Advanced spreadsheet and report design skills for presentation of financial and other statistical information. Strong skills in database management and query skills using Access, DiscovererPlus, or other querying tools used by the company. Leadership skills to provide guidance, direction, orientation and instruction. Project management skills sufficient to coordinate and lead projects with little specific direction. Ability to work within strict deadlines and handle multiple projects and with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds; ability to work as a member of a team. Ability to establish and monitor adherence to standards. Effective oral and written communication skills. Develop, implement, and maintain analysis and reports as it relates to tax information needed for renewable projects or other projects as they arise. 2. Stay apprised of regulations and rules as it relates to the prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements. 3. Work with contractors and internal personnel to obtain needed information and documentation on employees' wages, hours, and any other additional information needed to fulfill the prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements. 4. Assist with any Internal Revenue Service ("IRS") audits as it relates to analysis performed. 5. Perform financial analysis on various projects as requested. 6. Other day to day duties include ensuring data integrity, participating in data quality control and validation. 7. Assist MidAmerican Energy Company Accounting and Finance department with special projects including research, gathering and validating data, modeling and economics analysis and summarizing results for management. 8. Develop metrics and reporting, prepare and present data, gather and maintain project information for multiple projects. 9. Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
