What We're Looking For:
Our client is looking for someone who is motivated, coachable, organized, and passionate about financial planning. The ideal candidate enjoys digging into client data, building plans, solving problems, and connecting the numbers to real client goals. Why This Opportunity Stands Out:
Our client has built a strong, client-focused advisory practice with a great culture, steady growth, and a team-first environment. They are looking for someone who wants to do meaningful planning work, contribute to client outcomes, and grow into a bigger role. You will not be hidden behind the scenes. From day one, you will work side-by-side with the lead advisor, participate in client and prospect meetings, help build retirement plans, and learn how to move clients from initial conversation through implementation and ongoing review. This role is designed for someone who wants to become an advisor and is ready to put in the work to get there. What You'll Do:
In this role, you will support the lead advisor and planning team throughout the full client process.Responsibilities include:
Preparing for upcoming client and prospect meetings by reviewing calendars, messages, documents, and case details. Gathering and organizing client documents, including tax returns, statements, pay stubs, and other financial information. Entering and updating client data in CRM and planning systems. Helping build retirement plans, financial planning scenarios, and client presentations. Reviewing planning work with the advisor before client meetings. Sitting in on discovery, evaluation, strategy, and review meetings. Taking detailed meeting notes and tracking follow-up items. Preparing case packets, review materials, and client-facing documents. Helping move clients from prospect to implementation to ongoing service. Working closely with client service, administrative, and operations team members to keep tasks organized and on track. Learning the firm's full planning and advisory process with the goal of eventually leading portions of meetings and owning client relationships. What Success Looks Like:
In the first 30 to 60 days, you will be focused on learning the firm's systems, process, planning approach, and client experience. You will shadow the lead advisor, assist with case prep, gather documents, enter data, and begin taking ownership of follow-up items. By 90 days and beyond, the goal is for you to independently manage much of the case preparation and plan-building process, bring organized and accurate work to the advisor, and begin demonstrating the communication, judgment, and confidence needed to move toward an advisor role. Over time, this position is intended to grow into a true advisory opportunity.Qualifications include:
Series 65 license required, or equivalent licensing that allows investment advisory work. Experience as a Para Planner, Associate Planner, Client Service Associate, Junior Advisor, Associate Advisor, or similar role in a planning-driven advisory firm. Strong interest in becoming a Financial Advisor. Comfort working with financial planning software, CRM systems, and client data. Strong written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and strong follow-through. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional, empathetic, and client-first communication style. Willingness to receive feedback, learn quickly, and grow within a small team. Ability to work in-office in the Acushnet / New Bedford, MA area. Experience with Wealthbox, Retirement Analyzer, SEI, Nitrogen, or Holistiplan is a plus, but not required for someone who learns quickly.Ideal Fit:
This could be a great fit for someone who: Wants a clear path from planning support into an advisor role. Enjoys financial planning more than pure administrative work. Wants direct mentorship from an experienced advisor. Likes being in client meetings and learning how to lead client conversations. Is organized, dependable, and proactive. Thrives in a small-team culture where their work truly matters. Wants to join a growing firm with strong client flow, existing marketing, and real opportunity.Schedule and Work Environment:
This is an in-office position based in the Acushnet / New Bedford, MA area. The role requires someone who can commit to an in-office schedule and be available for occasional evening client meetings. As the person grows into the advisor role and becomes more independent, there may be additional flexibility over time. Why Join? This is a great opportunity to join a growing advisory firm with a strong culture, a collaborative team, and a real commitment to developing talent. Our client is looking for someone they can mentor, develop, and trust with more responsibility over time. If you are serious about becoming a Financial Advisor and want to learn in a hands-on environment with meaningful client exposure, this role could be an excellent next step.
