Senior Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst - Detroit Finance/Analysis Detroit, Michigan Direct Hire Mar 31, 2026 Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst

Salary:
$88,000 - $110,000 Our client is a well-established law firm. They are seeking a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst to support firmwide financial reporting, analysis, and strategic initiatives. What you'll be doing:
  • Design and prepare detailed financial reports and analyses using accounting systems, reporting tools, and advanced Excel
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting including management reporting, financial statement analysis, and ad hoc projects
  • Assist with partner and associate compensation analysis and reporting
  • Support high-visibility external surveys across firm departments
  • Collaborate with FP&A leadership and serve as a key resource to junior analysts
  • Own and manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery
  • Develop expertise in the firm's financial systems and overall financial operations
  • Utilize tools such as Excel, Power Query, SQL, and Tableau to extract and analyze data
  • Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed What you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive FP&A or financial analysis experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting systems and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills including Power Query, pivot tables, and complex formulas
  • Experience with SQL and business intelligence tools (Tableau or similar)
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to present complex financial information clearly across all levels
  • Excellent organization and project management skills
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred
