Financial Analyst (Accounting & FP&A) Position Summary We are seeking a versatile Financial Analyst to support both day-to-day accounting activities and financial planning and analysis functions. This role will split responsibilities between accounting support and forward-looking financial analysis, including financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance reporting. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting, enjoys working with numbers and data, and can help translate financial information into meaningful business insights. Key Responsibilities . FP&A / Financial Analysis Responsibilities (Approximately 60%) Build and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning. Assist with annual budget preparation and monthly forecast updates. Perform variance analysis on actual results compared to budget, forecast, and prior periods. Analyze trends in revenue, expenses, margins, and other key performance indicators. Support scenario planning, what-if analysis, and ad hoc modeling requests. Partner with department leaders to gather input and provide insight into financial performance. Accounting Responsibilities (Approximately 40%) Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and support schedules. Support the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and internal reporting. Analyze general ledger activity and investigate unusual balances or transactions. Support audit requests and maintain organized accounting documentation. Help improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting accuracy Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. 2-4 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or a blended accounting/FP&A role. Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles. Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial model building. Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Ability to organize and analyze financial data with a high level of accuracy. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly. Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ERP or accounting systems. Experience with financial planning, reporting, or BI tools. Experience in a growing or fast-paced business environment.
