Financial Analyst

Description We are looking for a Financial Analyst to support data-driven decision-making through thoughtful analysis, reporting, and financial insight. This Long-term Contract position is based in Eagan, Minnesota, and offers the opportunity to work with business partners to evaluate performance, identify trends, and strengthen financial planning activities. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to turn complex data into clear recommendations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed financial reviews to uncover trends, explain performance results, and support business decisions.
• Build and maintain financial models that help forecast outcomes, evaluate scenarios, and measure operational impact.
• Prepare ad hoc analyses for leadership by gathering data, interpreting findings, and presenting practical insights.
• Investigate budget-to-actual differences and provide clear variance explanations to stakeholders.
• Use data mining methods to extract, organize, and analyze large datasets for reporting and planning purposes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve the accuracy, consistency, and usefulness of financial information.
• Develop recurring reports and dashboards that highlight key metrics and support ongoing financial oversight. Requirements
• Experience performing financial analysis in a detail-focused business environment.
• Strong capability in financial modeling, including scenario building and trend evaluation.
• Proficiency in conducting ad hoc analysis and translating results into actionable recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to perform variance analysis and explain key drivers behind financial results.
• Hands-on experience using data mining techniques to work with large or complex datasets.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with financial reporting tools or data systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
