With moderate supervision, the Financial Analyst II is responsible for assisting the CFO and Directors in providing and accumulating financial data for the preparation of monthly financial statements for the assigned hospital and/or MLH entities. Assists the CFO with budget preparation and analyzes and prepares data for financial reports. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values. A Brief Overview With moderate supervision, the Financial Analyst II is responsible for assisting the CFO and Directors in providing and accumulating financial data for the preparation of monthly financial statements for the assigned hospital and/or MLH entities. Assists the CFO with budget preparation and analyzes and prepares data for financial reports. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values. What you will do Provides analysis of financial data, including financial reporting, trend analysis, proformas, and forecasts and the monitoring of key financial metrics. Assists Directors and Associates with financial matters. Assists senior leadership in gaining usable information that will be accurate for decision making. Performs Month End processes, including the communication and coordination with internal customers, preparation and recording of financial and statistical journal entries, completion of balance sheet reconciliations, and review of various financial reports. Prepares, maintains and analyzes monthly and annual financial reports. Presents and communicates findings and results to leadership as needed. Collaborates with department leaders of the development and analysis of operating and capital budgets. Ensures day-to-day financial operations run smoothly and efficiently by proactively working with leaders track resource utilization against budgets, staffing plans, etc. Performs special projects as assigned. Demonstrates effective customer relation skills, promotes a positive work environment and contributes to the overall team effort. Understands, applies, and supports departmental and company policies, procedures, and standards. Performs other job functions as assigned or requested. Education/Formal Training Requirements Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration/Management Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree Finance Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree Healthcare Administration Work Experience Requirements Required
  • Finance or Business 3-5 years Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of computer accounting applications, including general ledger, operations reports and financial statement preparation and financial analysis.
Solid skills and knowledge to operate standard office technologies (including personal computer, fax machine, and copier) word processing, spreadsheets (Excel), and related software programs. High degree of proficiency in verbal and written communication and interpersonal relations in dealing with all levels of management. Skill and proficiency in applying customer service principles, concepts, and techniques. Ability to work without close supervision and exercise independent judgement. Ability to organize multiple tasks and maintain control of workflow. Ability to work overtime during end of the fiscal year and during the budget preparation. Ability to handle time pressures and deadlines. Knowledge and experience in leading and facilitating projects. Effective collaborative skills. Supervision Provided by this Position There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position. Physical Demands The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. The physical requirements of this position are: light work
  • exerting up to 25 lbs.
of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently. The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
