Job Description
Financial Analyst Job Summary The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization's financial planning, reporting, and analysis functions. This role partners closely with finance and accounting leadership to provide accurate financial information, develop analytical tools, support close activities, and assist with strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and system skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and management reporting Perform account reconciliations and support month-end and quarter-end close processes Analyze operational and financial performance, including job costs, margins, work-in-progress, backlog, and cost estimates Develop and maintain financial models, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections Monitor and report on key performance indicators such as profitability, productivity, and utilization Build and enhance dashboards and automated reporting tools to support business decision-making Support ERP system optimization, including reporting improvements, data integrity, and workflow enhancements Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate financial data and improve processes Use data querying tools and business intelligence platforms to analyze large datasets Assist with system implementations, upgrades, and testing, including user acceptance testing Collaborate with leadership to support strategic initiatives and communicate business trends Assist with audit support and regulatory reporting requirements Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, or related field 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, FP&A, or similar role Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles Experience with close processes, reconciliations, and forecasting Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or similar platforms Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting software Working knowledge of SQL, databases, and data extraction tools Experience with system implementations, reporting, or process automation is preferred Understanding of data governance and system integrations is a plus Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Experience in project-based, construction, manufacturing, or similar industries is preferred Knowledge of project costing or fixed asset accounting is a plus Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
