Finance Coordinator University of Nebraska - 4.2 Lincoln, NE Job Details Full-time From $21.13 an hour 19 hours ago Qualifications HIPAA compliance HIPAA Employee relationship building Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Clinical confidentiality policies Stakeholder relationship building Full Job Description The Finance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring finance transactions are completed in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable institutional, UNL, State, and Federal regulations, policies, and guidelines.
The Finance Coordinator will:
Review purchases, standard contracts, individual journal entries and internal charges, batch journal entries and internal charges. Processes checks in QuickBooks. Provide guidance for purchases, provide financial review and approval of travel expenses and basic funds management. Work closely with SOFS groups and employees, as well as functional office staff, providing a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions. Hire, train, and lead student workers supporting the SOFS office. This position functions under general supervision and is expected to utilize technology to provide professional services. Minimum Required Qualifications High school diploma plus three (3) years of related finance work experience; OR Associate degree plus one (1) year of related finance work experience; equivalent education/experience considered. A willingness and demonstrated ability to learn new hardware and software systems. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with rules and regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA guidelines on the disclosure of information. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside of reporting lines. Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines. Knowledge of finance terminology and practices. Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are preferred but not required: Experience functioning in a team environment. Experience with SAP or large integrated finance system.
