$70,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year Job description: Finance Coordinator School Administrative Unit 53 Business Office is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated professional to provide high-level support to the School Business Administrator and leadership to business office and administrative support staff throughout the SAU. The Finance Coordinator performs complex financial management and analytical work requiring a thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Position Summary:
The Finance Coordinator supports the SAU Business Administrator and is primarily responsible for a variety of accounting and financial management functions. Duties include general ledger maintenance, monthly reconciliations, year-end closing procedures, accounts receivable, cash flow management, oversight of capital assets, and management of food service and student activity funds.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) requirements; experience with governmental accounting is strongly preferred. Strong organizational, management, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with support staff, school personnel, and district administrators. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and take appropriate action. Strong technology, data management, mathematical, and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel; experience with Infinite Visions financial software is highly desirable.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Public Administration required. Three to five years of relevant experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in a school district or municipal environment.
Salary:
Starting salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Expected hiring range:
approximately $36-$39per hour ($70,000-$77,000 annually), depending on experience and credentials.
