Data Entry:
Responsible for ensuring that all data is accurately entered in various financial software packages.
Account Reconciliation:
Reconciles all accounts as settlements are completed.
Financial Reporting:
Prepares financial reports and documents on a regular and ad hoc basis.
Internal Procedures:
Implement existing settlement procedures and possess critical thinking skills to improve the process.
External Communications:
Will act as Firm liaison with clients, vendors and other external legal professionals as needed. Work collaboratively with other departments, when needed, in the settlement process. Will work both independently and as part of the Accounting team. May require Ad-hoc Financial Planning and Analysis work. Will direct report to Controller and work closely with Compliance Officer.
Qualifications:
5+ Years of experience in settlements or applicable position. A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics or applicable field will be considered. Background in Legal Industry a plus. Must possess knowledge of standard accounting lifecycle. Comprehension of the full cycle accounts payable process. Candidate must be extremely organized and have superb attention to detail. Must be able to meet tight deadlines, occasionally requiring night and weekend work to complete last-minute requests. Must be of the problem-solving, data-driven and analytical-focused mindset. Must be a team player and possess self-starter mentality. Ability and experience in independently managing multiple projects in an accurate and timely manner. Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with wide range of personalities. Strong written and oral communication skills. Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel (High-Intermediate level with in depth experience in pivot tables and all lookup functions). Tech savvy, is a must. Law firm accounting experience a plus. #IND2
