Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Dental Financial Coordinator, where your expertise will drive the financial health of our dental practice and enhance patient experiences. In this vital role, you will manage all aspects of patient billing, insurance processing, and financial documentation, ensuring seamless communication between patients, insurance providers, and the clinical team. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help us deliver exceptional service while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of dental office management and patient financial support. Responsibilities Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using systems such as Epic, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Athenahealth. Process medical and dental claims accurately utilizing CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical terminology to ensure timely reimbursement. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Meditech, eClinicalWorks, and other EMR platforms. Manage patient accounts through billing, collections, and payment posting while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient confidentiality. Communicate effectively with patients regarding their financial responsibilities via phone etiquette and bilingual support when necessary. Assist with insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and claim follow-ups to optimize revenue flow. Maintain organized medical records and billing files through efficient clerical practices such as filing, data entry (10 key typing), and multi-line phone management. Skills Proficiency in medical collection processes, medical billing, and medical coding including
CPT, ICD-9/10
coding standards. Experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Dentrix, Eaglesoft or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and health information management best practices. Familiarity with dental terminology alongside general medical terminology to accurately process claims and documentation review. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to navigate multiple software systems efficiently. Exceptional customer service skills with a professional phone manner; bilingual abilities are a plus for diverse patient populations. Office management experience within a dental or medical clinic setting; familiarity with front desk operations and insurance verification procedures. Attention to detail in handling ICD coding (ICD-9/10), Medicare claims processing, care plan documentation review, and hospital experience is highly valued.
