The Senior Financial Analyst will make a big impact by reviewing and assessing the finances of the organization by collecting, monitoring, and analyzing complex financial data. Other main duties are to prepare, study, and report on analyses in areas such as member and product profitability, asset/liability management, investments, and financial plans.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Performs complex analysis and reporting using multiple systems and data sets. Collaborates with all levels of people, both internally and externally, to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations and reports regarding financial plans, operating forecasts, profitability and/or similar financial matters. Prepares management reports as well as reports supplied to various departments, committees, and the Board of Directors. Actively participates in the annual budgeting process. Assists with the preparation of financial statements including ongoing tracking and analysis of performance to budget. Reviews economic forecasts and applies appropriate economic adjustments to various analyses. Assists in the deployment of liquidity into the Credit Union's investment portfolio and completes ongoing risk monitoring of the portfolio. Ensures model assumptions, inputs, and results are accurate. Assists with administration of the credit union's Asset/Liability Management (ALM) program and Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) model. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Experience:
Minimum three (3) years' experience in a role requiring financial analysis and/or cost accounting techniques. Prior financial institution preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or accounting is required. Advanced degree or designation strongly desired.
Interpersonal Skills:
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills:
Solid knowledge and comprehension of financial and economic concepts and their application in the business environment. Strong business writing and oral presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex financial information into succinct executive narratives. High level of strategic thinking and business acumen, including strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving abilities. Strong desire and ability to learn and apply new skills and software applications. Position requires strong adaptability to change. Strong computer and software proficiency is required. Advanced MS Excel knowledge necessary. Strong spreadsheet management skills. Ability to prioritize and plan work activities through efficient time management techniques.
Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and far vision, color vision, and ability to focus.
Work Environment:
The noise level in the office work environment is typically moderate.

This is not an IT Analyst role; the position is centered on financial analysis and reporting. This position is required to work in person in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
