The Senior Financial Coordinator will:
Collect, distribute and disburse child support payments; Provide customer service and manage an estimated 2000 to 3000 returned warrants yearly; Maintain an estimated 717 auto withdrawals, manage applications, closures, research and modifications; Complete daily reconciliations of Child Support Services lock box account for all paper checks received for Child Support payments; Perform as back-up for posting Child Support Regional Office transmittal payments in the Child Support Enforcement System (CSES). How does it get done? The Senior Financial Coordinator is responsible for: Managing all warrants that are returned to the State of New Mexico Child Support Services Division daily; Entering all auto withdrawals and maintaining the auto withdrawal system; Reviewing and reconciling financial records ensuring compliance with accounting standards; Entering data regarding financial records into the computer database and spreadsheets to monitor, detect and properly reconcile accounts, deposits, returned warrants, and other relevant financial information as required; Reviewing and documenting records submitted by field staff ensuring timely posting of payments, transactions and documentation for accurate accounting and disposition; Perform as back-up for posting Child Support Regional Office Transmittal Payments in the Child Support Enforcement System (CSES), including interstate Cash Receipts, Local Cash/Commercial Deposit Payments, FIDM Payments and Memo/ Direct Payments. Who are the customers? Custodial parents of children who receive child support payment from non-custodial parents; non-custodial parents, employers, Interstate agencies and other entities who submit child support payments to the State of New Mexico; Internal and external staff who have vested interest in the operation of the State Disbursement Unit. Ideal Candidate Custodial parents of children who receive child support payment from non-custodial parents; non-custodial parents, employers, Interstate agencies and other entities who submit child support payments to the State of New Mexico; Internal and external staff who have vested interest in the operation of the State Disbursement Unit. Minimum Qualification High School diploma or Equivalency and one (1) year of experience in bill collection, bookkeeping, office administration, auditing, accounting, and/or finance. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must obtain a Defensive driving certification. Basic knowledge of ACH file formats and reconciliations. Employment is subject to a pre-employment criminal background investigation and is conditional pending results. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage with extended periods of sitting.
