ANALYST, GS-0501-9/11, you will plan, coordine, and perform comprehensive Accounting and Financial Management analysis, decision support and quality reviews, of base level accounting and financial management programs. Requirements Help Conditions of employment Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigion. May be required to successfully complete a two year trial period. Participion in direct deposit is mandory. For positions requiring the operion of motor vehicles, candides must have a valid ste driver's license for the ste in which they live or are principally employed. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Ability to establish effective professional working relionships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperive working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. Irregular and/or overtime (compensory) hours may be required to support operional requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportion as approprie to perform temporary duty assignments. QualificionsGENERAL EXPERIENCE
: Skill in collecting and analyzing da effectively, efficiently, and accurely;- Skill in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program merial;
- Skill in presenting formal training presentions and briefings;
- Ability to prepare reports and presention forms.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: GS 09: Must have one year equivalent to least next lower grade level. Must have experience with laws, DOD Directives, finance regulions and financial management and opering procedures relive to the entitlements and allowances reled to the payment of military personnel, civilian personnel, vendors, and travelers. Must have experience with military pay and allowances, civilian pay and allowances, vendor payments, and travel entitlements. GS 11: Must have one year equivalent to least next lower grade level. Must have experience and knowledge of reled financial regulions and rulings covering diverse types of pay transactions to typically function as a technical authority for the resolution of an extensive range of issues or problems. Experience and knowledge of the overall DFAS mission and functions, operion, and relionships to other agencies to respond to special inquiries and task organizions for informion and responses. Must have experience of multiple financial and accounting systems in order to perform studies reled to management improvement, productivity improvement and management controls to analyze and evalue criteria for the enhancement of all assigned Pay programs (Military Pay, Civilian Pay, Accounts Payable, and Travel Pay). Ability to apply fact-finding and investigive techniques. Must have experience with automed financial systems to participe in a variety of required operions audits and analytical reviews reled to pay entitlement determinions.
