Job Description

Job DescriptionJob Description An accomplished Procurement-to-Pay (PTP) Specialist is required to oversee service provider performance and manage freight billing operations. This role ensures the integrity of invoice processing, dispute resolution, monthly account reconciliations, and financial accruals. The selected candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and primary escalation point for an offshore processing team while supporting a critical system implementation.
Core Responsibilities Financial Operations:
Review and process freight-related invoices, and prepare monthly liability account reconciliations.
Team Oversight:
Act as the escalation point for the offshore processing team, auditing performance quality and providing coaching.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner with Commercial and Rail business units to support key initiatives and resolve operational issues.
Systems & Projects:
Test upgrades and changes in SAP; support the implementation and go-live activities for a new rail system.
Process Improvement:
Identify workflow gaps, design and deliver training, and assist with work prioritization.
Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
3+ years of progressive accounts payable experience.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical capabilities.
Attributes:
Eager to learn with a professional, positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications Industry Experience:
Prior experience in freight payables or logistics accounting.
Operational Experience:
Familiarity with supporting offshore transactional teams.
Employment Details Contract Duration:
3-month contract, with potential for extension (covering an FMLA leave).
Work Structure:
Hybrid (1-2 days remote per week allowed following the initial training period).
Onsite Requirement:
Full-time onsite attendance is mandatory immediately before and after the August 1st system go-live date.
